Compressor and Pump Repairs
Screw Compressors
DISCO has been working on screw compressors since 1992. Given our long experience with rotary vane compressor and centrifugal pump repairs, screw compressors were a natural fit for DISCO. We can replace or recondition a part — or build a complete compressor package to your specifications. We stock a variety of parts for industry-leading brands including Frick, Sullair, Atlas-Copco, Gardner-Denver, LeRoi, and Howden.
One critical aspect that sets us apart from other companies rebuilding rotary screw compressors, is that we were a full service machine shop first. Although tear down, cleaning, bearing installation, and reassembly are crucial, it turns out that the machine work plays a determining factor in the life of your compressor. If the machine work is overlooked, the rebuild will be cheaper, but the life of the compressor will be shortened dramatically. A few tasks that we always check and repair if necessary are:
- Re-sleeve air gaps to proper size
- Reclaim bearing journals, and metalize if necessary
- Dynamically balance the rotors
- Bore and sleeve the heads of the compressor
- Re-tip rotors
As mentioned earlier, we started as a machine shop in 1968 so all work is done in house. We always invite our customers, and potential customers, into the shop to inspect our facilities. If you aren’t quite clear on the process of a rebuild, give us a call and we’ll answer any questions you might have.

Reciprocating Compressors
DISCO offers complete compressor cylinder rebuilding. Send us a cylinder, assembled or disassembled. We will repair or replace any broken parts, reline or metal spray the cylinder bore, and reassemble and test the cylinder. We take pride in delivering a cylinder to you that’s rebuilt to OEM specifications or your unique requirements — and ready for installation.
We can make pistons from castings or solid stock, and we also manufacture and recondition piston rods. We can machine parts up to 80 inches in diameter on our vertical turret lathe, or up to 96 inches in diameter using our horizontal boring mill. When we repair a valve, we reface, lap, weld when necessary, and replace springs, plates, and buttons. All valves are tested and packaged. We label every part for your immediate use or backup inventory.
DISCO also offers several brands of turbine and vane-type starters, as well as pumps and pump parts for many industries. Contact us to learn more about how DISCO can help you.
